Matte Is Where Its At

When on the hunt for the perfect new lip color, we often times gravitate to the colors that have a glossy or satin finish. It's about time we step out of the box and try something new. Matte lipsticks are really leading the pack with the boldest, brightest colors for the season, not to mention the staying power they posses so no need for frequent touch-ups! So if your looking for the perfect accessory to complete your fab look...grab an intense matte. Be sure to gently exfoliate your lips with a bit of sugar & honey and smooth on some lip balm, blot with tissue then add lip color.

Here are a few hot matte colors to choose from:
Ruby Woo by MAC Cosmetics
Bright Pink Matte by Sephora

Volga By Nars

Nude Attitude by REVLON

Camera Ready Under the Water

Tis' the season for a vacation and I want to make sure your camera ready for those under-water camera shots. If your like me, I love taking lots of pictures while I'm on vacation and this does not exclude being under the water. Soooo I want to make sure your still looking hot after being under the water and being in the heat all day. Here's some products that will insure you keep a flawless, camera ready look!

Make sure you start off with a great moisturizer loaded with SPF for protection. Next up, start off by using MAC Cosmetics Face And Body Foundation which is a water based, water resistant foundation. This foundation provides a long lasting, sheer and natural looking coverage for the Face and/or Body.

DiorShow Water-proof Mascara is THE absolute best! Benetint is a water-proof, sheer tint that gives you just the right flush of color that literally lasts for hours. This product can also be used as a lip and cheek stain however, on the lips I would recommend using a lip conditioner first.

Makeup Forever has a water-proof liquid Eyebrow Corrector that fills, defines and intensifies brows with true staying power. And it conveniently comes in four shades to suit any complexion. I would recommend using this with a angle brush for control and procision.

Sephora Brand Flashy Liner is also water-proof and comes in an array of fun colors for the eyes.

So remember to take plenty of pictures to capture the moment because sometimes you only get one shot!

Jennifer Hudson's Christmas Special...looks!

Anxiously awaiting Jennifer Hudson's 1st hour long Christmas Special, "I'll be home for Christmas", which aired on December 14th and re-airs on December 24th on ABC. Filming started on a cross country ride on a huge tour bus heading to Chicago. We were having so much fun that time flew by. We ate a little, laughed alot, sleep a little and taped quite a bit. Baby David experience his 1st long distance ride and he seemed to be enjoying himself. When we made it back to Chicago we got started right away working day in and day out for a week. Just seeing the excited faces, duets with JHud and family, Christmas decor, and last but not least, hearing Jennifer's amazing voice singing Holiday Classics was the icing on the cake. So, I got alot of inquiries on the makeup used for the Christmas Special...so here goes!

Each day we worked at least 12 hours so it was imperative for me to create long lasting looks. I started off using Amala Beauty Moisturizer, next I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer to set the pace for a flawless face. Each day It was important to give her a different, fresh and dewy look. Some of the eyeshadows I used were: Dior 026 Chrome single eyeshadow which packed a ton of color, Dior 5 Colour eyeshadow 440 Sunset Cafe, Dior 5 Colour eyeshadow 009 Sky Glow and MAC's Woodwinked, Samoa Silk and Saddle just to name a few.

Some of the lipglosses used were my fav MAC's Dazzleglass Get Rich Quick, which was absolutely beautiful on JHUD. For the perfect pout I used a couple of Smashbox Lip Paints which are long lasting glosses. Foundations used were all from MAC. A few of the blushes used were by MAC...Fever, Sweet as Cocoa and Sincere. One of my fav things to do with Jenn is carve out her some defined brows and I did that by using a brow pencil by Mac called Spiked and an eyeshadow called Espresso followed by Dior Brow Effect Gel to control the brows.

For her smokey eye look I started off by using Nars Zardoz cream eyeshadow as a base. Another look I created was a subtle, sexy cat eye by lining JHud's top and bottom lash lines and extending slightly past her top lashes with Dior Trinidad Black eyeliner.

My all time favorite mascara is DiorShow Blackout Mascara which gave her lashes the right amount of length and curl.

Happy Shopping!
