Summer Makeup Trends 2011

Summer has finally arrived and with it comes new makeup trends. Bold lips, bright eyes, glowing skin, well-groomed brows, colored eyeliner, and sexy smokey eyes are all the rage this season!

Get The Glow
The first trend is flawless, glowing skin! This can easily be achieved by adding a bronzer or illuminating power after you've applied a tinted moisturizer. Illuminating power can be use all over the face and the bronzer can be applied to your cheeks.

Beautiful Bold Pout
Out with the soft pink hues of spring and in with bold shades of orange, red, and hot pink for the summer. Don't be afraid of color.

Shape It Up
This season calls for well-groomed eyebrows. If you have brows that are sparse you can fill them in and sculpt them with a brow powder.

Drawing The Line
Colored eyeliner is definitely hot for the season! Bold blues, greens, and purples can give your eyes the perfect pop of color.

Hey Bright Eyes!
Bright eyeshadow colors are a must for this season. From gorgeous golds to bold blues, playing in color is where its at this summer.

Sexy Smokey Eye
Instead of wear the classic smokey eye you can punch it up by adding greens, purples, and blues and smudging them out with a black or grey shadow or pencil. This funky twist on the classic smokey eye will definitely turn heads this season.

Feel free to play in color this season, but make sure that you don't over do it. While all the trends are amazing, pick one as the focal point of your face. If you are going to do a bold or smokey eye opt for wearing a simple neutral lip color.

Ask Tia Tuesday

Today's Ask Tia Tuesday question is from Brandise. Brandise asks:

What is the best way to take your make up from day to evening?

Thanks so much for your makeup question! Here's some quick ways to punch up your look from daytime to nighttime glam! First, you always want to carry makeup wipes to clean up any smudges so you can even out your skin tone with pressed powder or a blot powder to tone down oily skin. Next, I would add some eyelashes to your outer lashes to create flirty lashes. Don't forget to groom your eyebrows and add clear brow set to frame your face and send a message of powder. I would then add a punch of color to your lips to finish off your nighttime look.

Lips That Last All Day

If you are on the go like me, you want makeup that lasts all day. A great way to achieve a long-lasting, natural look for your lips is using a lip stain. Lips stains are perfect for giving your lips a touch of color and can be worn matte or with a little sheen.

The key to flawlessly rocking a lip stain is starting off with a smooth palette. I suggest lightly exfoliating your lips the night before and sleeping with a balm (not lip gloss)on your lips. In the morning put on a bit more balm and proceed to apply your lip stain lightly and evenly and allow it to fully dry. If you like a bit of sheen to your lips you can add a dab of clear gloss. Voila! You've got lips that will last all day!

You can find lip stains at your local Sephora or drugstore. They come in a variety of shades to suit any complexion.
